A Sushi Experience

DSC_8404 While I write this, I’m also eating some of last night’s leftover sushi rolls. A perfect combination to relive everything I learned. I took part in a 4h sushi class, iniciated by the folks from Vilaj Coworking, where chef Davi Lessa taught us about salmon, rice cooking, how to make Niguiri, Makis, Temaki and other wisdoms. After having rice stuck to my hands, jeans and even feet, I understood why keeping your fingers constantly wet is so important. And that if you want to leave room for the actual Sushi you’re making, you shouldn’t taste everything you’re making in the process. Each of the 8 students of our class invited one friend to eat our creations afterwards, and even after everybody was already breathing hard and feeling stuffed, we still had Sushi left to take home. So for someone as sushi-addicted and greedy as me, I really got my money’s worth. IMG_6630DSC_8419
