Izzy's is part buffet, part really yummy grill.
Sometimes buffet restaurants can be pretty, well, let's just say it... gross. At least they look that way because they are not kept clean or organized. I must say that Izzy's does not fall under that category. It was a lovely restaurant with a fun atmosphere. It was Saturday so of course college football was on all TVs. Every thing we ate off the buffet was tasty, especially the sauteed veggies (such flavor!), mac 'n' cheese (Mike was not surprised when I went back for seconds of this), pizza (one of their specialties), and the great salad bar.
In addition to all of that, they have a made-to-order grill. I ordered some pork riblets. Others ordered the pulled pork and glazed chicken, all receiving high praise. I'd probably give the grill as a whole a 4/5.
The dessert bar left a bit to be desired with not as many options as other buffet restaurants, but it was all still very tasty. 4/5.
The wait staff was very prompt in always having our glasses filled and were always nearby for anything else we needed. Definitely 5/5 on service.
Overall, we really enjoyed our experience. Plus, every one of us was decked out in our Duck gear for the game that afternoon so we were extra enjoying ourselves. Go Ducks!
