I've been eating a ton of talipa these days. I am trying to eat more fish, and been finding that talipia is one of the cheapest fish you can buy. Even at Fresh Direct, talipia is only $6.99 a pound. I've experimented with panko crusted and foil baked but I'm starting to get bored. If you've ever used Fresh Direct they give you some recipes to try on the bottom of the item page. I decided to make this one because I love a lot of spice and flavor. It also didn't hurt that I had all the ingredients on hand and it was fast to prepare.
Ingredients: Serves Four
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sweet paprika
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon Old Bay
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Method:
- Prepare the spice mixture, combine all in a bowl.
- Place melted butter in a bowl.
- Heat non-stick over high for about 5 minutes.
- Dip the fish in melted butter and sprinkle spices on.
- Reduce heat to medium and cook about two minutes per side.
