New York Style Pizza Dough

2 1/4 teaspoon yeast or one packet2 1/2 cups four1 cup warm water (about 110 degrees)1/2 tablespoon sugar1 teaspoon salt2 tablespoons olive oilMethod:

  • Mix yeast, warm water, sugar, salt, and 1/2 cup flour in a bowl with a wooden spoon.
  • Let rest for 20 minutes, the mixture will become foamy.
  • Add the oil, and 2 cups of flour and mix.
  • Remove the dough from the bowl and kneed for about 10 minutes on a lightly floured surface.
  • Place the dough in a bowl lightly covered with oil and place a dish towel over the bowl.
  • Let rest for about 2 hours.
  • Divide the dough into four balls.
